Kindergarten & some awards.....

It's here again.  The end of another year.  School Year that is.  I was really excited this year to see Grace's kindergarten program, and of course, to see Morgan receive some awards.

But first, Grace.

She's had a "hoodie" fetish lately.  She won't go ANYWHERE without wearing one.  I beg.  I plead.  I even get impatient some mornings.  There was even a day when I made her cookies after school because she left her hoodie at home.  As you can see, this is not one of those days.  She wore it, and she wore it proud.

Oh, and tennis shoes.  She doesn't like her toes ~ so she wears those things everyday.  I even bought her a new pair of pink sandals to wear in hopes that she'd shed the stinky tennis shoes.  I think the VERY last day of school she finally broke out of her comfort zone and wore both short sleeves AND sandals.  It was a very exciting day at our house.  We love you Grace. :)

Here's Grace before the program started.  She was nervous, and told me so that morning before school.  I knew she'd do a great job.  I wasn't worried one bit.

See?  You can tell she's nervous by the tongue in her mouth.  That is a classic "I'm uncomfortable" face.

Here they are singing their little hearts out.  Don't you love the contrast of Grace compared to the little girl next to her?  It was cracking me up.

There's that tongue again....

Congratulations Grace, you graduated to the first grade.  We love you little snick snack.

Morgan.  We're sure proud of her.  She has received an award each year she has been in school.  She's just smart like her Mom......(ha!)

Here is Morgan receiving her Top MATH award.....

 Aaaaaand her top READING award.

I guess each class picked one person for each of those awards, and Morgan received both for her class.  Way to go bug!!!

Family Night and Flying Kites!

In Morgan's class at school, they have the opportunity to earn "class dollars".  Morgan has become pretty darn wealthy in that class.  The other day she brought home a kite that she bought from "store".  She then BEGGED us to let her fly it.  Seeing as we live around some pretty nice electrical poles, we thought we'd find a nice, open field to try it out.  On our way out the door I remembered that we actually had 4 kites from the Easter Bunny (from 2 years ago) that we never have used.  So. We decided that we'd make a "Family Night" out of it, and drove to Kaysville to their "castle park".  The kids were thrilled.  I, of course, brought along my camera and stalked my kids the entire time.

It was fun hanging out with the family, in the nice, warm weather.  I love my little kids and I have a wonderful husband that doesn't get TOO upset when I decide to take pictures the entire night instead of running around with kites for our kids.

Here are my favorites from that night.  You'll notice that Morgan's past the 'candid shot' stage and is now into the 'hey Mom, take my picture doing THIS!' stage.  Don't you love the rock climbing photo?  So not posed.

So these are the photos of our kids doing what they do best.

Play.

typical Morgan shot...

yes, she IS that crazy.  Grace, we love you.

and of COURSE I brought my lens that I'm still practicing with....

Lilah and I had a blast sitting together.  (at least I did...)

Gage.

Creder...

As soon as the kite flying began, this is what the boys did.  Can you tell Crede's a little ticked off that he's WAITING for a kite to use?  Chance will also love me dearly for posting this one of him though.  He had a blast getting that Little Mermaid kite in the air.

 Grace and her kite

Aaand the ONLY tree in the field found Crede's kite.  Aw well.

Here's another example of  "Hey MOM!  Take a picture of me doing THIS!"

That bottom photo of Gage and Lilah melts my heart.  I love that he loves her and wants to give her hugs ALL.  THE.  TIME.

Morgan, non-nonchalantly flying her kite while lying down.
